How in the world does one begin to be a professional clown/body artist/children's entertainer anyway?

Kids!!!

It's all about the kids really.  I have 4 of my own.  When we moved to the Red River Valley 10 years ago,  I noticed something.  If you wanted entertainment for kids....in some of the rural areas at least....you had to do it yourself.  I began organizing local events for kids of all ages.  Things that were fun for everyone.  My first year I got an indoor trick or treat organized at a local nursing home and it is an annual tradition today.  The following year I added a Christmas Shopping With Santas Elves. I have been organizing events ever since.

Singing telegrams

Believe it or not, I am not the singer in our family.  My daughter is well known for her singing in the community.  Growing up, I had an actual fear of singing for others.  My daughter did a fundraiser for Valentines day one year and I saw the happiness that she created every where she went that day.  That is when Hits and Giggles was born.  I wanted to make others laugh, and feel special just as she made others feel that day.  That desire has gotten me over my fear....and turned into our family business.

Mooseburger Clown School was recommeded to me by a family member that was with Ringling Brothers Circus.  I applied for a scholarship and received one!  My family could not believe that mom was going to clown college!  The knowledge that I gained there in facepainting, balloon twisitng, skits and magic are the corner stones of what Hits and Giggles is now.  I knew when I started this whole venture that I wanted to bring the local children a level of professionalism that they had not seen before. (unless they go to DisneyWorld...grin) They deserve the best and that is what I strive for.

My daughters all help in the business in different ways and are my crew, helpers, and everything in between.  I love working with family and it shows.  My girls love working with me too.  Hits and Giggles is all about the kids...starting with my own.
